While the edition is not noted on the label, ID #314060 is the 18th Edition of Krug Rose according to the Krug website.

Very pale rose gold color. Incredible high-pitched nose combines strawberry, iodine, cinnamon, rose petal, minerals and earth. Almost painfully intense in the mouth, with a brilliant kernel of spicy fruit and pure minerally soil tones. With its bracing acids, this is distinctly austere today, yet the texture is remarkably fine-grained and there’s great sweetness of fruit lurking. An essence of iodiney soil character; like a hypothetical blend of a great Montrachet and a Gevrey-Chambertin grand cru. I hesitate to score this rose even higher than Krug’s great 1990 Clos du Mesnil, but this was the best bottle of Champagne I tasted this fall. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media, 11/2003 (No lot # or disgorge date provided.)

Marvelous. Burnished to an orange-gold color, this rosé evokes a complex palette of gingerbread, coffee, fig compote, orange peel and smoke flavors, all enmeshed in the supple texture and graceful harmony. Fades gently on the palate over the course of several minutes. - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 10/31/2003 (No lot # or disgorge date provided.)

Super fresh and bright with musky red fruit aromas as well as gently marzipan scented biscuits on the nose; spices all here too. Great complexity and depth, really elegant, assertive and deep. Long and even, superb depth through the finish. Great wine. Drink young and precocious. Krug ID 313042 - James Suckling, 7/2015

The NV Brut Rosé is brilliant and finely-sculpted in the glass, with floral aromatics, pulsating minerality and chiseled fruit. Less austere than it can be, the Rosé impresses for its combination of tension and textured, phenolic weight. There is so much to like. This release (ID 213027) is based on the 2006 vintage. The blend is 59% Pinot Noir, 33% Chardonnay and 8% Pinot Meunier. Disgorged Spring 2013. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media, 11/2014

Medium rosé hue. A cool, restrained and highly complex nose that is not especially fruity displays a moderate yeast character along with slightly exotic aromas of mandarin orange and Asian tea, all wrapped in an enveloping array of beguiling rose petal scents. There is very good richness with a relatively firm supporting mousse that adds to the impression of richness to the superbly complex and highly textured flavors, indeed one could aptly describe this as more wine that Champagne. As such this is indeed a sumptuous Krug rosé that is difficult to resist already though it should reward extended keeping if desired. As I noted in the original 750 ml review, that while I am not always wowed by the Krug Rosé, this latest incarnation in magnum is strikingly good. Note: blended from all 3 grape varieties and from a wide range of vintages and rests at least five years in Krug's cellars after bottling; from magnum format. - Allen Meadows, Burghound, 10/15/2015. (No lot # or disgorge date provided.)

Very pale salmon-peach, a beautifully soft, silky mouse – almost a true crémant style – with very fresh, delicate, summer fruits and fine acidity. This is the one Krug cuvée that must be drunk young. (No lot # or disgorge date provided.) - Tom Stevenson, Decanter

Quite deep strawberry pink. Tiny bead. Massively fruity. Explosive yet super-smooth fruit. Clearly this can age. ID 414068. The 21st edition. The first Krug rosé was released in 1983; proof that rosé is not produced every year. 47% Pinot Noir, 37% Chardonnay, 16% Pinot Meunier. Based on vintages 2007 back to 2002. Disgorged 2014. - Jancis Robinson, 8/28/2017

This magnum spent at least 8 years in Krug's cellars developing its particular expression and elegance, receiving its cork in Summer 2014.

Inspired by the dream of the fifth generation of the House of Krug to conceive a rosé Champagne that did not yet exist, every year a new Édition of Krug Rosé is created.

The broad palette of elegant notes in Krug Rosé 18ème Édition, is born from a selection of 21 wines, the youngest of which dates back to 2005 and the oldest to 2000. The blend was completed with 9% traditionally macerated Pinot Noir red wine from the year.

Krug Rosé 18ème Édition was composed around the harvest of 2005. It was a year of patience and diligence in which a mild winter was followed by a hot, overcast summer. While the harvest in Champagne officially began on 12th September, every decision at Krug is based on tasting and so the House chose to wait a further week before beginning picking, when the grapes offered their optimal level of expression. The generous yield revealed an exceptional level of freshness.

Upon tasting, the wines of the year - which made up 80% of the final blend - revealed a vibrant character. Especially notable were the Chardonnays from plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger for their remarkable notes of fruit and the Pinot Noirs from plots in Mareuil-sur-Ay and Les Riceys for their structure. To complement the different expressions of fruit in the wines of the year, a number of wines were selected from Krug's extensive library of reserve wines. Among them, wines from the year 2000 from plots in Ambonnay and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger on the southern slopes of the Montagne de Reims brought their indulgent fruit character. Finally, a red wine from the House's plot in Ay imparted an enchanting colour, generosity, length and spiciness. This fusion promised to reveal the elegance and verve so characteristic of every Édition of Krug Rosé.

The final composition of this bottle of Krug Rosé is 56% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay and 14% Meunier.

Krug Rosé is the most non-conformist of Krug Champagnes, for bold gastronomic adventures. Combining breadth, depth and grace, it dances a perfect tango with savoury dishes of all kinds, replacing a great red wine at the table with brio. - Krug website
