The 2020 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has a pretty nose, more low key compared to the Montée de Tonnerre with touches of white peach and light wild mind notes emerging with time. The palate is well balanced with a saline entry, fine depth, crisp acidity with commendable persistence on the finish. A very Chablis-like nose freely offers up its aromas of quinine, petrol, green fruit and citrus rind. There is fine richness to the seductively textured and mouth coating flavors that terminate in a moderately long, clean and dry finish. While this is perfectly good, this seems to lack the same personality as the best of these 1ers plus it could use better depth. - Burghound
