The transparency of this is incredible. It’s like drinking glacier water but with so much white pepper, clove, dried mushroom and spice character. Intense and pure and so perfect. Showing incredible botrytis character. It’s full-bodied, lightly oily, sweet but doesn’t seem overly sweet. Balanced and bright. It’s perfection. Historic vintage. Magic. 180 g/L residual sugar. Drink it now and marvel, but it will age for decades, possibly forever. Only 6,000 bottled made. - James Suckling

The 2021 Lafaurie-Peyraguey is one of the wines of the year in Sauternes. Creamy and beautifully resonant in the glass, it offers up a compelling mélange of pineapple, mint, ginger, orange confit, chamomile, passionfruit and floral-infused honey. The 2021 is exotic and wonderfully deep, yet not at all heavy. It's too bad Sauternes is such an out of favor category, as great wines like this don't get much attention. That's a shame, because Lafaurie-Peyraguey is truly magnificent in 2021. Tasted two times. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

The 2021 Lafaurie-Peyraguey was only bottled three months ago and it has a pale lemon-straw color. It hits the ground running with energetic notes of lemon tart, grapefruit pith, and yellow apples, with touches of lime leaves, wet pebbles, and allspice, plus a hint of shaved almonds. The palate has a laser-fine backbone of crisp acidity cutting through the bright, intense citrus layers, finishing spicy.- Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent

I loved the 2021 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey, which has freshness as well as richness. Honeyed grapefruit, peach, marmalade, and some exotic floral notes all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with perfectly integrated acidity and a great finish. This stunning Sauternes will offer loads of pleasure over the coming two decades. - Jeb Dunnuck

Yellow-gold. Rich and intense with subtle, tropical-fruit notes. Rich and concentrated with layers of fruit. Round, full, unctuous but balanced, that tangy acidity driving through and lingering on the finish. Rich but harmonious. - Jancis Robinson
