Full mid yellow, with a relatively accessible nose, a little bit buttery. This soon settles down and regains the lovely nuanced, mineral, slightly smoky character of Genevrières. There is plenty going on here, as the fruit opens out beautifully. I would not have wanted this to be any riper but as it is it presents so many different facets. A really complex, intriguing wine. A little touch of bacon to finish. Terrific. Tasted: February 2021 --Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Note: from 40+ year old vines from a huge 2.5 ha parcel in Genevrières Dessus
Tasting note: This too is sufficiently reduced to mask the fruit though discreet spice elements can be discerned. There is excellent volume and mid-palate density to the extract rich flavors that pack very good punch on the stony and surprisingly powerful finish that offers excellent length where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. While this retains the intrinsic refinement of a fine Genevrières, it's bigger and more powerful than usual. –Allen Meadows, Burghound
