The ruby/plum-hued 2022 Château Latour-Martillac offers up a smoking good bouquet of ripe currants, cassis, and assorted blue fruits as well as some classic Graves chocolate, scorched earth, and floral notes. Full-bodied, rich, and textured, it has lots of ripeness yet never goes over the top and stays balanced and lively. - Jeb Dunnuck
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2022 Latour-Martillac Rouge swans out with showy scents of Morello cherries, blackcurrant cordial, and mulberries, leading to hints of lilacs and Sichuan pepper. The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm backbone of ripe, grainy tannins with seamless freshness to support the bright fruit, finishing long and fragrant. Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent
The 2022 Latour-Martillac has a slightly ripe nose than its peers: candied red berry fruit, orange rind, light loamy aromas percolating through with time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite thicklytextured tannins, weighty and powerful with cedar and mocha-infused black fruit on the assertive finish. It lacks a bit of finesse now, but I can see this surprising a few people with the wherewithal to cellar for a decade. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Juicy and rich, this is quit concentrated and intense, with dark ripe fruits. I like the intensity here, it's dark and ripe but remains clean and crystalline with lovely purity of fruit despite being dense. Less immediately appealing than some, but this is so slick and charming, creamy, well built with freshness and a sense of definition that is lovely. Still quite compact with liquorice tang but it's good, juicy, serious. Mineral too. Slightly lean, but the tannins really work here and there is such concentration in the fruit that you know they haven't over extracted. A yield of 42hl/ha. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 8% Petit Verdot, the 2022 Latour Martillac displays aromas of cassis, blueberry, raspberry, licorice, menthol, iris and violet. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is perfectly balanced, fleshy in the mid-palate and seamless with a moderately concentrated and elegant texture. The new winery allows for more accuracy during the winemaking process, and it is noticeable. - Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate
