Tasted blind at the Burgfest annual tasting the 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir by Louis Michel has a detailed, oyster shell and flint-scented bouquet that is very engaging, drawing you in to discover its nuances. The palate is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity, a little spicy on the second half with just a pinch of white pepper and leading to a very harmonious finish that feels persistent. This is what you might call a cerebral Chablis, yet one that does not forget that its first and most important role is to give us drinking pleasure. Bon vin. 2018-2038 Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
Note: from a 1 ha parcel of 30 to 65 year old vines
Tasting note: A notably ripe yet cool array is composed of mildly exotic aromas of citrus, orange peel, sea breeze and floral scents. There is excellent cut and delineation to the mouth coating and terrifically intense middle weight plus flavors that possess an incredibly fine mouth feel on the almost pungently mineral-driven finish. This explosive effort will need a few years but the potential is clearly present. Allen Meadows - Burghound
