The second wine of Château Le Gay and a wine you don’t see very often, the 2018 Château Manoir De Gay certainly impressed. It’s a full-bodied, rich, incredibly pure Pomerol that has the vintage richness and power paired with beautiful fruit and balance. Notes of graphite, smoked black fruits, and earthy minerality all emerge from the glass, and I can’t imagine this not drinking well in its youth. Nevertheless, it should evolve nicely given its purity and balance. -Jeb Dunnuck

The 2018 Manoir de Gay is a racy, succulent Pomerol. Bright red cherry, plum, tobacco, cedar and licorice are endowed with notable intensity in a Pomerol that shows the exuberant side of the vintage off nicely. Red cherry, plum, tobacco, cedar, new oak and dried flowers add complexity. This is an especially bold style, and it works very well.-Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

The deep purple-black colored 2018 Manoir de Gay reveals plum preserves, fruitcake and dark chocolate scents with touches of dusty soil, tobacco and woodsmoke.
