There is just enough reduction present to push the underlying fruit to the background so be sure to decant this if you're tempted to pop a cork upon release. There is both excellent richness and delineation to the caressing medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the well-balanced and perfumed finale. I very much like the subtlety and interplay of the fruit, acid and dry extract that imparts a beguiling texture to the finish. Outstanding Top Value - Allen Meadows – Burghound
The 2014 Saint Aubin 1er Cru la Chatenière has one of the most Puligny-like bouquets within Colin's range of Saint Aubin: mineral-driven, cold flint and something that reminds me of an undergrowth cave. The palate is crisp on the entry, the acidity here nicely judged, gently building with wonderful salinity towards the finish that feels so persistent. This has great potential, so afford it 2-3 years in bottle if you can. Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
