There is both excellent richness and delineation to the caressing medium-bodied flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the well-balanced and perfumed finale. The 2014 Saint Aubin 1er Cru la Chatenière has one of the most Puligny-like bouquets within Colin's range of Saint Aubin: mineral-driven, cold flint and something that reminds me of an undergrowth cave. The palate is crisp on the entry, the acidity here nicely judged, gently building with wonderful salinity towards the finish that feels so persistent.
