The 2020 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Boudots 1er Cru has a very expressive bouquet with ebullient red and blue fruit combined with violet and crushed stone scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, nicely poised with quite a strict finish that indicates that this will need some bottle age.—Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Aromas of cherries and ripe berries mingling with hints of spiced plums, burning embers and forest floor introduce the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots, a medium to full-bodied, deep and velvety wine that's layered and concentrated, with beautifully refined tannins and a long, sapid finish.—William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Dark purple black, full of energy, almost too much, the fruit is pretty ripe as well, some black cherry notes, balanced on the palate, some coffee to finish. Wouldn’t want it to be any riper. Always a lower acid site. 13.3% but the aromatics show that it needed to be picked. Tasted: December 2021.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Note: from a 1.04 ha parcel of 60+ year old vines
Tasting note: A decidedly spicier and attractively layered nose reflects notes of ripe black cherry, anise, sandalwood and hints of exotic Asian-style tea. The velvety medium-bodied flavors also possess good muscle and punch on the delicious, lingering and balanced finish that is also relatively robust though not quite so much as the Murgers. Outstanding. –Allen Meadows, Burghound
Cask sample. Dense and serious with a dry, concentrated finish but not the exaggerated style of old. Nicely judged wine with a real future and an unusual scent of blackcurrants.—Jancis Robinson
