Méo's family cuvée of Les Perrières is this year (and perhaps only this year) blended with fruit from premier cru Les Terres Blanches to produce the 2020 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru (Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeurs). Exhibiting aromas of red berries, cherries, rose petals and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with ripe tannins and a long, penetrating finish.
A blend of Perrières and Terres Blanches. The former was badly hailed, and the half crop threatened to be over ripe, so the fresher fruit from Terres Blanches balances it nicely. Relatively deep purple. The rich aspect comes out too strongly at first, and gives some heat, though happily this is pulled back by the fresher Terres Blanches and works well in the end. Tasted: December 2021.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: A pretty and attractively layered nose offers up its blend of pretty and fresh red and dark currant, earth and discreet floral nuances. The rich, firm and tautly muscular flavors possess a bracing salinity on the moderately chewy and slightly warm finale. This too will need at least a few years of patience in order to better harmonize.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
