The 2015 Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Kabinett (Golden Capsule) AP 33 is herbal and intensely fruity on the nose and reveals a higher concentration than the corresponding Kabinett #2. On the palate, this is a complex and juicy Kabinett with grip, remarkable length and lingering salinity. Pungent mint and sage on an intense nose put me in mind of Sauvignon Blanc or Scheurebe, though these are allied with site-typical, equally assertive scents of apple as well as heliotrope and lily perfume. Creamy and lusciously fruity, this finishes with superb and animating persistence if (surprisingly) not quite the nuanced complexity of the corresponding Wehlener or Kinheimer. - David Schildknecht, Vinous Media
