Pale, bright yellow. High-pitched aromas of citrus fruits, mint and flowers. Concentrated and tactile, with the flavors of pineapple, lemon, lime, pear drop and fresh hay supported by a firm mineral underpinning. Slightly glyceral and exotic, this wine finishes with palate-staining minerality and sneaky length. Coutoux notes that the vines in this rocky site are in very good shape and never produce overipe fruit. ÒStephen Tanzer, Vinous MediaHere the equally cool nose is compositionally similar to that of the Bourgogne but with notably better complexity. There is also much better mid-palate density and volume to the attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess a caressing mouth feel before culminating in a sneaky long finale. This is worth checking out provided you can allow it a few years of cellar time to develop a bit more overall depth. ÒAllen Meadows, Burghound.com
