The Freedom Hill bottling, from vines planted in 1982, reveals a compelling bouquet of creamy wild plum, spice, and a subtle framing of new oak. On the palate, the wine is richly layered and full-bodied, with superb depth at the core and a notable chassis of fine but firm tannin which asserts itself on the long and complex finish. - Decanter

A riot of berries, plums and Asian spices fills the mouth—well-integrated, layered and detailed right on through the extended finish. (13% new French oak) Limpid ruby-red. Fresh dark berries, cola, licorice and lavender on the nose; a floral nuance emerges slowly. Plush, expansive blackberry, cherry cola and spicecake flavors tighten up slowly with air.
