This is very muscular with chewy and powerful tannins that show so much blackcurrant and lead-pencil character on the nose and palate. Full body. Intense. Big upgrade in quality in this handmade red. Drink from 2024. About 300 cases made. James Suckling
The 2016 Pauillac de Château Latour is just as delicious as it was from barrel. Pliant, silky and open-knit, the Pauillac is absolutely striking. Bright floral notes lift the red and purplish berry fruit in a mid-weight, classy wine endowed with tremendous polish. There is so much to like and admire in this beautifully perfumed, nuanced wine from Latour. In 2016, the Pauillac is a wine of total precision and class. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
With a vintage as widely successful as 2016 in this part of the world, it is no surprise that this is a delicious Pauillac de Latour that is easy to recommend. Clear notes of blackberry bud and liquorice root - both flavours given a qualifier to show not only spice and concentration but also good levels of acidity, freshness and sinew. The tannins were so prevalent during en primeur and in-bottle tastings that it was easy to miss how generous the fruit is underneath. A lovely moment to begin drinking. - Jane Anson, Decanter
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Le Pauillac de Château Latour opens with gorgeous cassis, warm plums, exotic spice and licorice scents with wafts of tobacco. Medium-bodied, the fruit is still tightly wound with fantastic tension and firm, fine-grained tannins, finishing very long. Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
