A fine, spicy and polished Pauillac with a sleek and supple tannin frame. Pretty core of blue and purple fruit with some peppercorns and cloves. All in balance. 63% cabernet sauvignon and 37% merlot. - James Suckling

Containing an unusually elevated 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Pibran offers up aromas of dark berries, cherries, cigar wrapper and sweet soil tones. Medium-bodied, ample and lively, with powdery tannins, impressive concentration for the vintage and a penetrating finish, this is a terrific effort. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate

The 2021 Pibran is terrific. Bright and punchy, the 2021 impresses with its purity of fruit and fine overall balance. Succulent red cherry, blood orange, mint and rose petal are front and center. The 2021 is unusual in that the Cabernet is especially high. More than that, though, what impresses about the 2021 is its impeccable sense of harmony. Pibran could very well be one of the under the radar gems in 2021. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Packed with cassis bud and blackberry fruit with salinity on the signoff, enjoably sappy and easy to drink, although lower ripeness overall than the past few years. 60% new oak. A little more Cabernet in the blend than usual, because of the frost and mildew. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux

Gorgeous florally, so sweet and welcoming. Lightly framed, delicate but fun and playful. Sweet purple flowers. Smooth, sweet but also sour, the succulent and creamy chalkiness is lovely. A nice balance between the sweet fruit, the floral flowers and the freshness. Tannins are so fine and integrated. Such easy drinking, still with quite a vein and backbone of the spiced minerality - really long length. It’s gentle with this depth of flavour and intensity of perfume while still being light but the spice also gives depth. A lot going on here, with this lick of stone and graphite, dark chocolate and clove. Ageing 40% in new barrels and 60% from barrels of one vintage. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
