Tasting note: This is also aromatically quite spicy with more earth influence to the ripe and vaguely liqueur-like aromas of mostly dark berries along with a top note of kirsch. There is a seductive mouthfeel to the caressing but impressively powerful medium weight plus flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract before culminating in an equally well-balanced and persistent finish that already offers very fine depth. The 2022 Pommard Grands Epenots 1er Cru has a delightful nose: dark berry fruit and hints of violet and sous-bois, though the oral component lends this an almost Vosne-like allure. The palate is well-balanced with sucient fruit to support that 50% new oak, which will be subsumed with time. Fine delineation, very harmonious with a silky texture, this will evolve into a precocious yet fresh and detailed Pommard. -- Neal Martin, Vinous Media

A clear even crimson. Anne loves it this year. This is much more nuanced than either Volnay, and with admirable precision.
