So much fresh pressed violet and blackberry character as well as iodine, quartz, slate and tile. Full body, grippy yet linear and polished tannins, fine acidity and a long, minerally finish. So refined. Drink in 2020. - James Suckling
This wine was previously part of the Bolgheri Superiore appellation but is classified as an IGT Toscana wine in this vintage. The 2015 Sapaio represents a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Petit Verdot and 10% Cabernet Franc that ages in French oak for 16 months. The wine is dark and luscious with a thick and rich quality of dark fruit. Purple plum, blackberry and cherry emerge with fragrant intensity. The wine boats a beautiful texture that is soft and powerful at once. Give it a year or two to rest and relax in the bottle. The personality is still nervous and vinous at this young stage in its life. - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate
