The 2015 Beaune Les Teurons packs a serious punch, with quite a bit of intensity in its fruit, but with equally forbidding young tannins. It will be interesting to see if the 2015 softens a touch. Today, the tannins are hard, coarse and not yet integrated, while the oak is also a bit out of balance, something I did not see with the other 2015s here. Perhaps I caught the Teurons at an awkward stage. This parcel sustained quite a bit of hail damage between 2012 and 2014, and the vines may still be carrying some of the residual effects of that stress. We will see. Stephen Tanzer – Vinous Media
