63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 17% Syrah. Deep Ruby red, dense succulent plum and wild berry fruit flavors are underpinned by ripe supple tannins allowing early enjoyment with food. If you can't find a perfectly grilled ostrich fillet, game or a nice vegetable stew would be perfect accompaniments to Ugaba.

A production created by Hubert de Bouard de Laforest of Chateau Angelus, Lowell Jooste the co-owner of Klein Constantia and Bruno Prats the former owner fo Chateau Cos d'Estournel. They wanted to create a wine that would combine the richness of fruit and suppleness bestowed by the South African terroir with elegance and balance from Bordeaux wine-making philosophy.

The name Ugaba refers to a tradition of the AmaXhosa, South Africa's second largest language group. Xhosa chiefs appointed warriors who distinguished themselves by valorous acts of bravery as men of Ugaba, conferring on them the task of maintaining peace and order. -Winery
