An expressive, airy and cool nose features notes of stone, sea water, floral aromas and white orchard fruit along with plenty of mineral reduction nuances. This is exceptionally rich and concentrated yet the medium weight flavors remain light and pure with absolutely no trace of heaviness on the mouth coating and stunningly persistent finish. Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Chablis 1er Cru Mont'e de Tonnerre 2011 from William F¬vre has a more open and expressive bouquet compared to others in the flight, allowing the limestone and flint. The palate is crisp and vibrant with good acidity, fine depth and tension, quite spicy with a slight resinous note coming through on the complex, slightly nutty finish. This is a more cerebral Chablis, rather mercurial in the glass, and for that reason an absorbing proposition. Neal Martin, Wine Advocate

Pale green-yellow. Subtle aromas and flavors of lemon, grapefruit, fresh herbs, powdered stone and white pepper. Intensely flavored and gripping but in a rather closed phase today.
