The 2022 Vosne-Romané Aux Brûlées 1er Cru has a lilting bouquet with transparent redcurrant, raspberry and strawberry scents, as Clavelier says, ripened by the light rather than the heat. The palate is beautifully balanced with a silky texture, not a deep or powerful wine, but very precise with a touch of spice right on the finish. Drink over the next 15 years, possibly more. -- Neal Martin
Brûlées is sunny rather than hot, exposed to the sunshine but with cool airflow. More depth of colour, ruby style. A fine pleasing perfume, not too much of the hot flint. “Gourmandise and fraicheur” says Bruno, indicating the marriage of generosity with freshness. Note also the crisp finish on red fruit, which persists beyond the structure. In fact, very long. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted: November 2023.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: A ripe but super-fresh nose freely offers its array of red cherry, currant, exotic tea, anise and a touch of sandalwood. The succulent, rich and sappy medium weight flavors brim with dry extract while displaying impressive power on the mineral-driven and palate soaking finish. This possess excellent development potential and is a wine that should drink well both young and with extended age. Outstanding.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
Cask sample. Deep, purple hue. Depth and concentration evident. Alluring floral notes. Bright acidity much more to the fore than weighty fruits. A Vosne-Romanée premier cru which is showing its class without the overt 'showiness' of many 2022s. Should be lovely in 3+ years. –Andy Howard, Jancis Robinson

The 2022 Vosne-Romanée Les Beaux Monts 1er Cru comes from light clayey soils. It offers open, well-defined red fruit, exuding Pinoté like Clavelier's other cuvées, gaining depth in the glass and manifesting a subtle flinty character. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, very focused with a piquant, lightly spiced finish. Very fine. -- Neal Martin, Vinous Media
A bright pink to ruby in this sunny spot. The Beaux Monts shows a very fresh red fruit then some pepper behind. Middle weight, a little less evident than the Brûlées today. More muscle, less finesse, an intensity of raspberry and cherry to finish. Drink from 2030-2037. Tasted: November 2023.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Note: from 50+ year old vines on the Flagey side
Tasting note: An exuberantly exotic nose features notes of kirsch, cinnamon, plum, anise and jasmine. I very much like the texture of the even more mineral-driven if less powerful larger-scaled flavors that deliver excellent length on the austere and built-to-age finale. This is a big VRBM and at least some patience is strongly recommended. Outstanding. –Allen Meadows, Burghound

The 2022 Corton Le Rognet Grand Cru has a ripe and generous bouquet with dark cherries, raspberry coulis and subtle blueberry scents, hints of sous-bois and potpourri percolating through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, a dash of cracked black pepper and cloves, leading to a nicely structured, quite elegant (for a Corton) finish. Superb. -- Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Fine concentrated pink ruby. This does have the extra weight over and above all but Combe d’Orveau, then really kicks on. Magnificent in the detail, alpine strawberry as well as raspberry, a fraction of white pepper, very complete and absolutely lovely. First picked and highest degree, but works out very well. Drink from 2032-2040. Tasted: November 2023.—Jasper Morris
Tasting note: This is also aromatically deeply pitched with aromas of wild dark currant, poached plum and whiffs of the sauvage. There is a gorgeous textured to the broad-shouldered and overtly powerful flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract on the exceptionally long if decidedly firm, compact and balanced finale. This excellent effort is very much a 'buy and forget you own it' wine. Sweet Spot. --Allen Meadows, Burghound
