We are delighted to offer the 2023 Château Pavie, which already has potetnially perfect scores from Lisa Perrotti-Brown and James Suckling. Pavie sits at the top of the Saint Emilion classifications alongside, a position it shares Figeac alone, with the incredibly prestigious St-Emilion Grand Cru Classé A accreditation, which it won in 2012.

"The 2023 is a quintessential Pauillac that will age gracefully over the next 30 or 40 years. It reminds me a little of the 2019...Classic "P.B.”" according to Neal Martin, writing about Château Pichon Baron's 2023, which they have released this morning. This is one of our perennial favorites, and we too were very impressed when we tasted the incredibly elegant barrel sample in April, a wine of elegance, poise and structure. We also loved the Griffons Pichon Baron, which made it on to Value Drinkers list!

Under the stewardship of the late Denis Durantou, Château L’Eglise Clinet reached the pinnacle of Pomerol's estates, with consistently stunning wines. His daughters have continued to produce stunning wines that rival the best of the region, including a potentially-perfect 2023.

A superb Margaux to released today is the 2023 Château Giscours. Situated in the heart of the Margaux appellation, this third growth estate has undergone massive change and considerable replanting with a change from 60% Merlot in 1995 to the current 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, and a steady increase in biodynamic farming.

2023 Pavie (Saint-Emilion)

99-100 JS / 98-100 WI / 97 DE / 95-97+ JD / 95-97+ VM / 96 JA

The 2023 Pavie is deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a few moments of swirling to unlock scents of blueberry pie, cassis, and preserved plums, eventually giving way to a gorgeous perfume of violets, star anise, cedar chest, and iron ore. The medium to full-bodied palate shimmers with bright, fresh black fruit layers, framed by firm, ripe, rounded tannins and Pavie's signature tension, finishing very long and very fragrant. This is breathtaking! The blend is 51% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Franc, and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon, with pH 3.66. - Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Independent

2023 L'Eglise Clinet (Pomerol)

98-100 VM / 97-99 WI / 97-98 JS / 97 JA / 97 DE / 95-97 JD / 93-95 WA

The 2023 L'Eglise-Clinet was picked between September 10 and 14 and matured in 82% new oak. It has a stunning bouquet with enthralling delineation and focus, very intense with blackberries, raspberry, crushed stone, Earl Grey and a touch of blood orange. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-boned tannins and a dash of cracked black pepper. It's very harmonious and fans out brilliantly on the finish. It is surely going to vie with the stupendous 2022, and this ranks as one of the best wines of the vintage. Tasted on two visits at the beginning and end of my Bordeaux tastings. -- Neal Martin, Vinous Media

2023 Pichon Baron (Pauillac)

97 DE / 95-97 JD / 95-97 VM / 95-97 WI / 95-97 WA / 96-97 JS

Perfumed nose, fragrant and so scented, a touch of blackcurrant leaf, plum, graphite and dark chocolate. Silky soft, bright and so delicately presented. Crunchy and crisp red fruits and ripe black fruits with some spiced undercurrents and wet stone touches. Much lighter in terms of fruit profile than some - summer berries, tangy and vibrant with super fine tannins giving the structure and support. This has finesse and power - less plushness and richness than last year of course - it’s more sleek and straight, firm and controlled but still has width and layers of flavour and texture. Refined, and definitely cool. ‘Classicism’ with no overt heat on offer. I love the hint of strawberry sweetness and tannins that completely coat the mouth. I think this will be great in time. Maybe not so charming right now but there’s no faulting the finesse and refinement. 44% grand vin production. 12% press. 3.7pH. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter

2023 Giscours (Margaux)

The 2023 Giscours is the very best wine I have ever tasted here. Giscours has been knocking on the door of Bordeaux's elite for a few years now. Two thousand twenty-three is the year in which Giscours joins the region's big boys and girls. A towering, majestic Margaux, the 2023 dazzles from start to finish. What a wine! -- Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
