The stony Plateau de la Crau, in the south-east of the appellation, where the villages of Bédarrides, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Couthézon meet is the birthplace of Vieux Telegraphe Blanc. It is a blend of 40% Clairette, 25% Grenache Blanc, 25% Roussane and 10% Bourboulenc coming from vines averaging about 45 years in age. The grapes are hand-picked, with double sorting at the vine, then a third sorting in the winery. Vieux Telegraphe Blanc is a classic style of white Châteauneuf-du-Pape: more floral than fruity aromas, and characterized by balance and freshness. - Ron van Vlaardingen, GVWM Fine Wine Sales Director

The 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc stopped me in my tracks and has an incredible sense of class. Fabulous stone fruits, honeyed orange, white flowers, and a beautiful sense of minerality all define this brilliant white, and it has nicely integrated background oak, medium to full body, a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's a “wow” white that brings both richness and freshness. Drink bottles over the coming decade.--Jeb Dunnuck

Subtle, elegant and very refined white Chateauneuf-du-Pape. It shows aromas of citrons, pears, wild herbs, fennel and blanched almonds. It's medium-bodied with balance and a refined character throughout. Textural, caressing, precise and silky on the mid-palate. Flavorful and harmonious with a focused finish. Drink or hold.--James Suckling

The 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc is showing even better today than when I tasted it last year. Pear, stone fruits, and crushed stone as well as a kiss of black licorice emerge on the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a great mid-palate, flawless balance, and a wonderful sense of freshness and purity. Give bottles another year or two, count yourself lucky, and enjoy over the following 15+ years. 11/22.--Jeb Dunnuck
