" It should drink well for close to two decades" - Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate

Big sister of the Cuvée Réservée with an identical blend, the Cuvée Laurence is an extension of the aging in old oak. Combining elegance and liveliness, the Cuvée Laurence reveals its full potential thanks to 4 years of aging that allows an osmosis between the suppleness of the tannins & the spices of the old wood.

Long-time followers of this exemplary estate know that in years when there is no Cuvée da Capo, Pegau releases a Cuvée Laurence, essentially one foudre of the production held back for extended aging. The 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Cuvée Laurence is a terrific example of this bottling, boasting an especially rich, velvety texture, ample weight and richness on the palate and knockout aromas and flavors of dried cherries and garrigue. Already approachable, it should drink well for close to two decades.- Joe Czerwinski, The Wine Advocate

The 2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Laurence is opulent and sensual, bursting with pungent aromas of raspberry jam, ripe blackberry and black cherry, garrigue, white pepper and crushed rocks. Essentially, this is the same wine as the Cuvée Réservée, but instead of maturing it for two years, Laurence Féraud keeps it locked away for four, leading to more concentration, slightly elevated alcohol and a firmer tannic structure. It concludes with a long-lasting finish. -- Nicolas Greinacher, Vinous Media

Enveloping, warm and spicy nose with an extremely wide spectrum of aromas, ranging from dried rose to graphite via thyme and smoked bacon. Very powerful, concentrated and earthy, yet there’s brightness in there that makes it shine, Stunningly fine tannins power the super-long finish. Drink or hold. - James Suckling

Now that it has been in bottle a while, the 2015 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee is looking even better than I projected based on last year’s prebottling sample. It’s all violets, cherries, subtle allspice and clove and traditional garrigue notes of lavender and thyme. Full-bodied and rich, it’s crazy complex, adding hints of tar and black olives on the long, silky finish. It should evolve beautifully over the next two decades. - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate

The more limited production cuvée, the 2018 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée A Tempo Blanc checks in as a blend of one-third each of Clairette, Grenache Blanc, and Roussanne that comes from a mix of three different soils – pebbles, clay, and more sandy soils – all in the Mont Pertuis lieu-dit. It was vinified and aged in equal parts old barrels, stainless steel, and concrete. More medium-gold hued, with an exotic bouquet of mulled orchard fruits, spiced lemons, brioche, and a touch of spice, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, beautiful mid-palate depth, and a salty, spicy, incredibly long finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. It’s certainly one of the most concentrated whites in the vintage and has a singular style all its own. This big, opulent, powerful white has plenty of upfront appeal yet is going to evolve nicely for 10-15 years or more. It’s beautifully done and well worth seeking out. - Jeb Dunnuck
