Our initial offering of the fabulous M. Molitor Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese*** GK didn't take long to sell out, so we're pleased to once again offer this masterpiece from the Mosel. Also available In Stock are gems like his rare Wehlener Sonnenuhr Beerenauslese* Gold Capsule and the Graacher Himmelreich Auslese *** Green Cap, among others from an extensive lineup.
For those unfamiliar with the abbreviations of capsule colors, WK = White Capsule and is used for the dry wines, GRK = Green Capsule for the “feinherb†or off-dry wines, and GK = Gold Capsule for the sweet wines.
The asterisks notate what the producer believes to be a superior wine and is often more intense. The bottles also have a scale on the back label which ranges from left (dry) to right (sweet).

The golden-colored 2019 Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese *** (Golden Capsule) opens with an intense yet highly finessed and elegant bouquet of perfectly ripe, tropical fruits intermixed with very fine weathered slate aromas. This fascinating combination of richness and finesse is also mirrored on the palate, which is immediately lush and round, then intense and concentrated but always lifted and refined by this beautifully crystalline and grippy slate structure. This Auslese is still a raw diamond but will surely develop to a spellbinding character over the years. Another fabulous 2019 Auslese from M. Molitor’s most loved vineyard. Molitor’s golden-colored 2019 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Beerenauslese * is concentrated, deep and complex on the flinty, fresh and lemon-scented nose. Juicy-piquant, with precise and piercing acidity on the first attack, this is a very fine and mineral BA with a serious and persistent structure and sustainable salinity on the palate. The 2019 Graacher Himmelreich Auslese *** (Green Capsule) opens enormously deep, intense and complex on the nose that immediately indicates the wine is in an exceptional class on its own. Only with lots of aeration does the wine become more and more pure and fresh and develop a flinty lemon note with the finest perfume. On the palate, this is a rich, round and complex, sweet, wide and mouth-filling, very generous, free and easy-flowing Himmelreich of exceptional finesse and beauty. The finish is so stimulating, salty, pure and crunchy in its slate character, whereas the crater dug by the piquancy is filled in by the perfectly ripe and healthy fruit with lush intensity.
