We are excited to announce the release of the one of the most highly sought after wines of Margaux, a "flippin’ delicious" 97-98pt Rauzan-Ségla. The esteemed 2nd Growth is owned by the Chanel Group and has been on an amazing run of form over the last two decades. Since new winemaker Nicolas Audebert took over the reins from John Kolossa in 2015, he has continued to raise the bar in terms of quality.

Also out today from one of our favourite St. Julien estates, the 95pt  Gruaud Larose that's "Delicious now but has ageing potential"This 2nd Growth consistently produces one of the best wines in the appellation and occasionally they make a wine that challenges the very best on the Left Bank. The 1982 Gruaud Larose is a classic example and it is unquestionably one of the legends of Bordeaux. Very few wine critics have had the opportunity to taste the 2020, however our tasting team were really impressed by the quality. This is a serious, age-worthy Gruaud that will go down as one of the all-time-greats!

Also available is the "magnificent" 96-98pt premier cru Saint-Emilion La Gaffelière, situated on the slope just beneath the town. La Gaffelière, which belongs to the Counts of Malet Roquefort, is on a very ancient vineyard site, dating back to the 11th Century and before. It has been on great form in the last decade, qualifying for Premier Grand Cru Classé B status. The 2020 is glorious, and the samples we've tried have really shone. This is a cracking wine!

Also of note today is a "fantastically elegant" Pomerol, the 97-98pt Nenin, and "hugely promising" Saint Julien, the 95pt Talbot.

Don't miss this opportunity to secure your allocations at the opening prices.

We've updated our Futures Landing Page to list our Wines of the Vintage, Over-Achievers, and Value Drinkers, while it continues to be updated with new wines daily, and we'll be sending offers on the most compelling wines as they are released...stay tuned!

2020 Rauzan Segla (Margaux)
97-98 JS / 96-98 WA / 95-97 VM / 95-97 JD / 92 DE

Composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 3% Petit Verdot and 1% Cabernet Franc, the 2020 Rauzan-Ségla is aging for 18 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. It has an alcohol of 13.5% and a pH of 3.74. Deep purple-black colored, aromas of blackcurrant cordial, stewed red and black plums, chocolate-covered cherries and raspberry coulis erupt from the glass, leading to an undercurrent of tar, licorice, red roses and menthol, plus a hint of unsmoked cigars. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and yet manages seriously impressive intensity, which is well-sustained throughout the mid-palate and finish. Refined and refreshing, delivering beautifully soft, silt-like tannins and bags of bright red and black fruits, it finishes with amazing length and a stunning perfume. Between this and Château Canon, Nicolas Audebert and his team have knocked it out of the park this vintage. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate

2020 Gruaud Larose (Saint Julien)
95 DE / 17.5 JR

Elegant yet driven with gentle power, nothing going overboard or trying too hard. This takes a beat, then it comes strongly - evident spice and flesh, full of raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant pastille, fennel, hawthorn and liquorice. The tannins build up through the palate and press in on the final moments. Virginie Salette winemaker since 2017. A yield of 32hl/ha. Vinify at around 22-23°C, so an extremely low and slow extraction. Harvest was from September 14 to 29. A big shouldered St-Julien but with a wide nuance of flavours. - Jane Anson, Decanter

2020 La Gaffeliere (Saint Emilion)

96-98 WA / 96-98 VM / 96-97 JS / 95-97 JD / 95 DE

The 2020 La Gaffelière has an intriguing, complex nose, a mélange of red and black fruit, cigar box, undergrowth and mint, quite mercurial in the glass as it opens with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, a beautiful seam of acidity and perhaps the most satin-like texture I have encountered on a young La Gaffelière. It sashays to a harmonious and precise finish and lingers with wonderful mineralité. This is a magnificent prospect. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media

2020 Nenin (Pomerol)

97-98 JS / 94-97 JD / 94-96+ / 92-94 VM / 93 DE

A blend of 68% Merlot and 32% Cabernet Franc raised in 40% new oak, the 2020 Château Nenin brings the intensity up a notch, offering a rock star nose of cassis and darker berries as well as crushed stone, graphite, chocolate, and violets. The purity is spot on and it has a precise, focused texture that's very much in the vintage, flawless balance, and a great finish. It's another gem of a Pomerol in the vintage readers will love to have in the cellar. For the tech geeks out there, the alcohol reached 14% and the pH was 3.65 with an IPT of 76. - Jeb Dunnuck

2020 Talbot (Saint Julien)

95 DE / 94-95 JS / 92-95 VM / 91-93 JD / 90-92 WA

The 2020 Château Talbot is a winner and certainly an outstanding wine. Offering lots of blackcurrants, green tobacco, chocolate, and lead pencil notes, it’s a classic Saint-Julien, with medium to full body, velvety tannins, and a rounded, layered texture. It’s ripe, yet certainly plays in the fresher end of the pool and should have 15-20 years of longevity. - Jeb Dunnuck
