Sophie and Vincent Morey both come from families of winegrowers. They set up their own domaine in 2006 and had their first harvest in 2007. When Vincentâ€™s father Bernard Morey, a leading personality in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, took his retirement, Vincent took over the a part of the vineyard holdings. Vincent Morey is technically Caroline Morey's cousin since her father, Jean-Marc, is Bernard's brother.

Tasting note: This is one of the few wines to display more than a trace of reduction and here it's enough to overshadow the underlying fruit though I would not expect it to persist for long. More interesting are the finer but not denser flavors that evidence even more prominent minerality on the beautifully persistent, highly refined, youthfully austere and lingering finish. This isn't necessarily qualitatively better than the Caillerets but the innate class of Puligny is evident. Sweet Spot. Outstanding.â€”Allen Meadows

Tasting note: Elegant and exceptionally pretty aromas are mostly comprised by a variety of ripe white-fleshed fruit, acacia and lemon-lime nuances. The markedly finer but not denser middleweight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the slightly more complex and persistent finale. This is a classic Caillerets with a really lovely texture that should permit it to be enjoyed young if desired. Worth considering. Outstanding. â€“Allen Meadows
