A taut, dense red highlighted by a floral element, casting a violet note along with black currant, blackberry, spice and mineral flavors. Featuring a firm yet refined structure, this lingers on the fruit-, spice- and mineral-tinged aftertaste. Best from 2027 through 2045. 30 cases imported.--B.S, Wine Spectator
Tasting note: A deft application of wood sets off ripe and fresh aromas of violet, black berry liqueur and a beautiful array of spice elements. There is excellent punch and delineation to the chiseled and intensely mineral-driven medium weight flavors that possess the innately refined texture of a fine Taillepieds, all wrapped in a moderately austere, sleek and strikingly long finale. This concentrated effort is very classy juice that should amply reward 10 to 12 years of keeping. Sweet Spot. Outstanding.—Allen Meadows, Burghound

Ex Laleure Piot. Pale lemon and lime. This is very different from the Pierre Meurgey label Corton-Charlemagne, though the plots are next door and picked on the same day. This version is much less exotic in aromatics, much more chiselled, and is actually very fine with youthful mineral bitters. Long salient steely finish. A Corton-Charlemagne success this year, with the wood perfectly integrated. Tasted: October 2021.—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
Tasting note: A subtle but not invisible application of wood surrounds the aromas of just sliced green apple, mineral reduction and a similar array of citrus elements. There is first-rate intensity to the broad-shouldered and powerful flavors that deliver excellent length on the stony, clean and very dry but not especially austere finale. Like the Sous Frétille, this could use better depth but in this case, more will also certainly develop in time..—Allen Meadows, Burghound
2020 Clos de la Chapelle Corton Bressandes Grand Cru
96 WS / 94 BH
$159.89/bottle (In Stock) Buy Now
An intense yet elegant red, with fine purity to the black currant, black cherry, violet and mineral aromas and flavors. Structured, yet the ripe fruit, flesh and balance give this an effortless feeling. Builds nicely to a long, complex aftertaste. Best from 2027 through 2045. 300 cases made.--Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
Tasting note: Moderate wood influence is present on the ripe aromas of both red and black currant, spice, floral and vague sauvage hints. There is outstanding size, weight and volume to the caressing but overtly powerful and muscular big-bodied flavors that coat the palate while delivering first-rate depth and persistence on the firmly structured finale. This is very Corton in style but with the touch of refinement that is Bressandes. Sweetspot. Allen Meadows, Burghound
