This intense red delivers an extra layer of vibrant cherry, berry and floral flavors, with stone and spice notes. Though linear in profile, it's well-delineated and has depth, ending in an aftertaste that echoes cherry, spice and mineral notes. Best from 2025 through 2043. 75 cases imported. — BS, Wine Spectator
Tasting note: This is aromatically quite similar to the Theurons with perhaps just a bit more earth influence. There is again fine volume and intensity to the denser and more powerful medium-bodied plus flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the very firm and impressively long finish. Note well though that the imposing tannic spine leaves no doubt that this is constructed to reward extended keeping. Outstanding.4/10/21--Allen Meadows, Burghound
The stream of well-made Beaune vineyards continues with Couchereaux Mid red to purple, some graphite, then much plumper behind showing a little bit of oak, ripe cherry and plums, and a long seductive finish. Tasted: October 2020—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
The 2019 Beaune Clos des Couchereaux 1er Cru definitely has the most floral of Jadot’s Beaune Premier Crus; rose petal scents infuse the brambly red fruit, mixed with a light marine scent. The palate is medium-bodied with with fine tannins and a keen bead of acidity. This is very elegant and shows impressive poise toward the finish. A delicious Beaune in the making.—Neal Martin, Vinous Media
