Vincent Paris is one of Cornas' youngest talents but his wines are nothing short of legends in the making. Cornas Granit "30" and "60" designations refer to the gradient slope of the vineyards. The Granit 30 is concentrated black fruit in a relatively “consumer friendly” style – perhaps a bit more Syrah-ish than Cornas-ish- whereas the 60 is classic Cornas: dense, with aromas of kidney and iron, and a terrific mineral underpinning.

It has a nice balance between ripe fruit and some earthier, herbal scents. Very ripe, pure, concentrated. This has more class than most this year, it's well balanced, even if really very ripe and vibrant. Tannins are robust, ripe, plentiful, fruit-derived, finer than most. Long finish. 50-year-old vines on very steep slopes, 70% destemmed. No pigeage, natural yeasts. Wine spends 16 months in two to eight-year-old barrels. 5,000 bottles made. Drinking Window 2022 – 2030 –Matt Walls, Decanter

Spice- and mineral-tinged dark berries, potpourri, olive and a hint of smoky bacon on the highly perfumed nose. Juicy, focused and appealingly sweet, offering densely packed blueberry, cherry liqueur, licorice and candied violet flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Slowly mounting tannins add grip to an impressively persistent, finely etched finish that strongly repeats the floral note.-- Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media

100% Syrah. Aged for 16 months in old oak. Cask sample. Tasted blind. Appealing and powerful fruit-led nose. Lovely vivacity and drive behind the meaty and spice-infused mid palate, the tannins are forward and present but integrating into the wine very nicely. –Alistair Cooper MW, Jancis Robinson

Lovely ripe freshness to the fruit, really bright summer pudding aromas. Mouthcoating fruit and tannin, very fine tannin. Acidity is surprisingly marked. Plenty of ripe tannins, they're quite lively, textural, fruit-derived. Very juicy, very fruity, concentrated and ripe. No great depth, very accessible. 10-year-old vines, all destemmed. Drinking Window 2022 – 2028 –Matt Walls, Decanter

Mineral-driven aromas of ripe black/blue fruits, peony, olive and exotic spices on the nose. Sappy and focused on the palate, offering gently sweet, mineral-kissed cherry and blueberry flavors that deepen slowly with air and show sharp delineation. The blue fruit note drives an impressively long, spicy finish that's given subtle grip by fine-grained, even tannins.-- Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media

Paris's 2018 Cornas Granit 60 boasts remarkably pure notes of cracked pepper, blueberries and raspberries. Full-bodied, lush and creamy, it perfectly captures the ripe essence of Syrah, then adds a firm grounding of crushed stone and firm tannins on the finish. It should have close to two decades of longevity. Drink: 2022-2035—Joe Czerwinski

Saturated violet. Spice-tinged dark berries, potpourri, olive and exotic spices on the highly perfumed nose. Juicy, focused and appealingly sweet, offering densely packed black raspberry, cherry and candied violet flavors supported by a spine of juicy acidity. Gently chewy tannins add grip to an impressively persistent, mineral- and spice-tinged finish that strongly repeats the floral note.-- Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media
