"Probably no one in Northern California has done more for the renaissance and resurrection of old vine Zinfandel than Larry Turley."
- Robert Parker

Cedarman is a proprietary blend of fruit from both Rattlesnake Ridge and Dragon Vineyards, located at the top of Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. Although primarily Zinfandel, they use a small amount of Petite Syrah from the Rattlesnake vineyard as well. The result is a truly powerful, dense and wild wine, long on flavor.

Opaque ruby-purple, the 2021 Zinfandel Cedarman has broody aromas of dark briary fruit with touches of menthol, graphite and earth. The full-bodied palate is coiled and concentrated at this stage, although it has a harmonious structure and nuanced finish that suggests it will unwind gracefully in bottle over the next decade.--Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate

2021 Turley Cellars Zinfandel del Barba

93 The Wine Advocate

$37.89/bottles (In Stock) Buy Now

The Del Barba Vineyard fruit, from vines planted around 40 years ago, used to be incorporated into the Duarte wine. This is the first time it has been bottled on its own, winemaker Tegan Passalacqua explains. Turley lost one of its older vineyard sources in Contra Costa County to new home development—a common occurrence in California and why producers who work with the state's oldest vines are so crucial to saving them. Medium ruby in color, the 2021 Zinfandel Del Barba Vineyard opens its scents of red cherry and blackberry over several minutes in the glass, plus hints of vanilla and earth. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and fresh with perfumed fruit and a long, floral finish. It's elegant but youthfully coiled and will benefit from 2-3 years in bottle.—Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate
