The 2020 Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche Grand Cru is consistent with my previous tasting in January. Exquisite definition on the nose, real mineralité here. The palate is intense and penetrating, touches of orange zest and spice building wonderfully towards the finish. Excellent.
The 2020 Montrachet Grand Cru (Marquis de Laguiche) has a complex bouquet with orchard fruit, crushed rock, orange blossom and light liquorice scents in the background lending a touch of exoticism. The palate is very well balanced with great depth and dimension. Perfectly judged acidity, quite powerful on the finish, this is a multilayered Montrachet that will require several years in bottle. Love the flintiness on the aftertaste!-- Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Here the wood treatment is no longer subtle though it stops short of fighting with the wonderfully broad-ranging nose of lemon confit, jasmine tea, acacia blossom and an abundance of spice elements. There is superb density and almost painful intensity to the palate staining big-bodied flavors that deliver massive persistence on the perfectly balanced finale. This strikingly pretty Montrachet is indisputably constructed for the very long haul, and I would recommend not touching a bottle for at least ten years. In sum, this is a stunning wine of class and grace. - Allen Meadows, Burghound
Cask sample. Amazing this is being poured, considering the price! A tad too cool admittedly. Tingly and rich but it's just a bit too tight to see its real qualities, which are probably there but a bit buried at the moment. Long though! - Jancis Robinson

A super-elegant Chassagne-Montrachet that offers all you want from this appellation, the balance of ripe-lemon character and flinty minerality spot-on. Super-silky and very graceful on the medium-to full-bodied palate. Then the finish doesn't want to stop. Drink or hold.—James Suckling
The 2020 Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot, ler Cru (Marquis de Laguiche) has a slightly more tropical influenced bouquet compared to the Clos des Mouches Blanc, with passion fruit, nectarine and peach skin aromas. The palate is well balanced with hints of apricot and orange rind on the entry, a fine bead of acidity with ample depth and vigour on the finish. Superb. --Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Tasting note: A deft application of wood frames the overtly floral-suffused nose of petrol, white peach, lemon zest and subtle spice wisps. The medium-bodied flavors are also rich to the point of opulence, yet the firm acid spine saves the balance on the saliva-inducing, long and powerful finish. This fine effort is very Morgeot in character and worth a look. Outstanding.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
