Diving into our cellar...a few Tuscan Gems not to be missed!

Greetings!  My name is Daniel McKeown and I just joined the Grand Vin Wine Merchants Team. I have over 25 years in and around the wine business working for international importers as well as regional distributors and retailers. I have had the pleasure of traveling to most of the major wine regions, visiting every type of wine producer, estates large and small, cellars that are cathedrals to wine and small caves with just a few barrels. I hope to bring my passion for the people and places that make wine interesting to each of you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if I can be of any help in finding a you the wine you want.

As I just got here, I wanted to take some deep dives into the cellar for some older vintages, rare finds, and gems that just shouldn't be overlooked. Hopefully these tasty bottles can find a home in your cellar, and on your table to enjoy with friends and family. I started in Tuscany as I was inspired by the cooler fall weather, seasonal foods, and times for gathering with others.

Tenuta Di Arceno Valadorna

This Merlot-led blend is sourced primarily from the cooler part of the estate, naturally irrigated by the stream that undulates through it, and features sandy brown soils and lower yields than typical. These blocks are often the last Merlot blocks to ripen on the estate.

2016 Rocca Di Montegrossi Geremia

$109.89/1.5L Buy Now

"The 2016 Geremia is a total knock-out. An exotic mélange of sweet dark cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice, spice and menthol races out of the glass. The 2016 is deep, dense and full of character. It is also easy to drink with minimal cellaring. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon work so well here in the way they express richness and structure, all with a real sense of Tuscan raw power."-  Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media
