"Balanced and ethereal, it's a transparent expression of Chambolle's range of terroirs"
Chambolle-Musigny: This appellation includes 24 Premier Crus Climats and two Grand Crus. Also, often regarded as the most “feminine” wine of the Côte de Nuits; its intensity and delicacy is expressed with elegance and subtlety.
The 2018 Vintage: "As is usually the case, I met with Véronique Drouhin who had an interesting tagline for the 2018 vintage, calling "The Tranquil Force. The idea behind the phrase is to capture the vintage's deceptively easy-going nature as there is real power and energy hiding beneath the veneer of baby fat." After tasting through a wide range of the Drouhin 2018s I can see why she is so high on the vintage as many of the wines are excellent. Also, my sense is that the restrained and elegant Drouhin house style is well-suited to riper vintages and it appears to be especially successful in 2018." – Allen Meadows, Burghound
The Producer: Founded in Beaune in 1880, Maison Joseph Drouhin’s cellars have spread from the historical Cellars of the Dukes of Burgundy and the Kings of France in Beaune (12th-18th centuries) to the Moulin de Vaudon, an 18th Century watermill in Chablis. Today, the fourth generation is at the helm leading the way in both France and Oregon.
