I thought a good way to re-introduce myself would be with the 250th Anniversary of Veuve Clicquot's 2002 in magnum that was just released last year after extended lees aging. In celebration of Veuve Clicquot’s 250th anniversary in 2023, this exceptional Limited Edition Vintage 2002 cuvée pays tribute to Madame Clicquot, inventor of the first vintage Champagne in 1810. The wine celebrates the House’s art of aging after prolonged time on the lees and a recent disgorgement in 2019. To showcase its specific signature of aging, the 2002 is presented only in large formats, 1.5 and 3 Liter.

This cuvée matured on its lees for over 15 years and benefited from a recent disgorgement in 2019 to give the wine aromatic richness. The long aging in our cellars, called ‘Crayères,’ gives it a silky and generous texture.

The blend was made using 60% pinot noir, 33% chardonnay, and 7% pinot meunier, crafted exclusively from Grands & Premiers Crus. The pinot noir gives the blend strength, body, and a generous richness; the chardonnay lends an expressive balance. - Winery
