Just reviewed recently the Wine Advocate and with “perfect” 100 point scores from the likes of Mouton-Rothschild, Leoville Las Cases, Pichon Lalande, Gruaud Larose, and Cheval Blanc, it’s been 40 years since the now legendary 1982 vintage. As William Kelley of the Wine Advocate states, it was a “year of seminal importance”. Not only to Bordeaux, but to the wine world in general and especially to a brash wine reviewer named Robert Parker. He put the vintage on the map for consumers and made a well-deserved name for himself.

At the time it was remarked that you could “buy as much of anything that you wanted” due to the availability of the wines and an especially favorable exchange rate for the US. Now that is no longer the case, as these wines are fewer and farther between. But the wines have endured, and we are lucky to have a handful of the magnificent 1982 bottles available both in stock and overseas as a pre-arrival.
