Lovely recent additions from Piedmont - a great way to celebrate La Dolce Vita!

Trediberri: Three friends â€“ Tre â€“ and a vineyard in Berri: hence they are the â€œTrediberri.â€ They are a young, artisanal family winery. They have no ancestral coat of arms depicting rampant horses and fluttering ensigns. They have no history and that is fine by them: they like talking about the present, through their wines.

Caâ€™ del Baio: For four generations Caâ€™ del Baio has been a family affair, as is the tradition in the Langhe. Nurtured and passed down from father to son, the vineyards surrounding the Grasso family farmhouse have been added to over time through marriage and acquisitions. Today it is Giulio and Luciana who, together with their daughters Paola, Valentina and Federica, handle all the various areas of the business with passion and expertise, from the growing and vinification of the grapes, to hospitality and wine sales.

Spicy and elegant, the 2019 Barolo Rocche Dell'Annunziata is laced with notes of incense, fresh earth, and ripe cherry. The 2019 Barolo Berri was tasted from two barrels, one of which utilized whole bunches in the fermentation. While both offered freshness and purity, the second barrel offered more significant spice in its profile, with more depth of fruit, and is firmly structured at this stage. The components are compelling and should make for a wonderful finished blend in a few yearsâ€™ time.-Jeb Dunnuck
