It’s late fall and the perfect wine for those hearty meals on a cool night, in my opinion, is Barbaresco. Elegant and fresh, with great earthy notes on the red fruits, nice acidity to cut through rich foods, and a nice foil to things like mushrooms, risotto, polenta, and the like. These wine will age gracefully, but are very approachable now and in the near term.

These two houses (Ca’ is short for Casa), Ca’ Nova (New House), and Ca’ del Baio (House of the Bay, or brown colored horse) have just released the 2020 vintage wines and they are drinking fantastic. Excellent wines at a great price. Enjoy!
