#30 Jeb Dunnuck’s Top 100 Wines of 2020
The 2019 Condrieu La Doriane is another tremendous effort from this estate that does everything right. Reminding me slightly of the 2015 with its power and richness, it still has plenty of freshness in its apricot, ripe pineapple, honeyed marmalade, flowers, and cream aromas and flavors. Already complex and full-bodied, with good acidity and a fabulous finish, this is a quintessential expression of this cuvée and it’s hard to imagine how it would be any better. These always have the capacity to age, yet I find them most enjoyable with 6-12 months of bottle age and then over the following 3-5 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

Bright sappy lime, like Indian lime pickle, and a gentle sweetness from the oak (the Roussanne component is fermented in new oak barriques). Good balancing acidity. The oak regime is quite intense, but it works, it doesn't occlude the freshness, just adds a layer of complex spicing. Very long, citrussy and salty. The best white from Solitude for a while. I loved the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc, which is one of the finest versions of this cuvée I can recall. Rich stone fruits, apple blossom, melon, crushed stone, and white flower notes all define this incredibly complex, nuanced white, and it’s medium to full-bodied, beautifully balanced, and lengthy on the palate. It’s never the biggest or richest white out there, but its purity, finesse, elegance, and length are world class. Jeb Dunnuck
