There is just enough reduction to reduce the expressiveness and blur a bit of the nuance to what are clearly ripe and floral-suffused aromas. The rich, delicious and palate coating large-scaled flavors possess impressive density while delivering excellent length on the compact and youthfully austere bitter lemon-inflected finish that is even firmer. Unlike the Criots that could reasonably be approached after 5-ish or so years, this is going to require between 12 and 15 years of patience if you wish to experience it at its peak. —Allen Meadows, Burghound

There is density and viscosity to the texture of this white, which is ideal for its peach, oak spice and mineral flavors. Supple and vibrant at once, this glides to a lingering finish. Drink now through 2026. 200 cases made, 50 cases imported. — BS, Wine Spectator
2019 de Montille Puligny Montrachet Les Folatieres 1er Cru 2019
94 DE / 92-95 JM / 92-94 VM / 90-93 BH
A half-hectare acquired by the Château de Puligny-Montrachet from Charton in 1993, in a couple separate parcels, all near Chevalier. The wine is rich and spicy, with aromas of ripe apple and citrus on the attack, then marzipan and butter on the palate. The texture is broad but still balanced by fresh acidity that carries this to a beautiful, lingering finish. Drinking Window 2024 - 2039—Charles Curtis MW, Decanter

The 2019 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is showing nicely, mingling scents of peach and orange oil with hints of white flowers and honey in an inviting bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with a textural attack and a nicely structured core, it's long and chalky.—William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
2019 Jean Noel Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet les Chaumees 1er Cru (750ML) $119.89. Buy Now

This wine is made from 75% in the main part of Caillerets and 25% in Les Combards, not yet assembled but blended in the glass for me. A light yellow colour with huge energy on the nose, a wine which is resisting the blandishments of the sun. This will need extra time in barrel according to Caroline. Notwithstanding their Bâtard-Montrachet, this is often the great wine in the Jean-Noël Gagnard cellar. There is a touch of youthful bitterness at the finish but will be spectacular. Tasted: December 2019—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
2019 Drouhin Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Morgeot Marquis de Laguiche
95 JS / 94 WA / 93-95 JM / 92-94 VM / 91-93 BH
A rich and powerful Chassagne-Montrachet with serious concentration and creaminess, but thanks to the acidity and the fine tannins this remains poised through the long and very sensual finish. Drink or hold.—James Suckling
2019 Marc Morey Chassagne Montrachet les Caillerets 1er
92 BH / 91-93 VM
More elegant if slightly exotic aromas include those of pretty floral, fennel, white and yellow peach plus a whiff of passion fruit. The middle weight flavors are not as concentrated but they're markedly finer and more mineral-driven while displaying focused power on the very dry finale. Note that this too is quite backward and a wine that will definitely need at least some forbearance. Outstanding. 2029+ --Allen Meadows, Burghound
2019 Pernot Belicard Puligny les Perrieres 1er Cru
93 JM
A holding of 0.24ha in the lower part of Perrières, planted in 1974. Clear mid lemon colour. The bouquet is a classic Perrières with an alluring weight of fruit, this time dusted with a touch of coconut from the barrel. Kicks on with additional weight, and quite a lactic feel at the back, not quite the intensity to the finish. Good acidity and length. Tasted: February 2021—Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

2019 Yves Boyer Martenot Puligny Montrachet les Caillerets 1er Cru
91-94 BH
Aromas of lavender, acacia, spice and mineral reduction introduce dense and sappy medium-bodied flavors that also exude evident minerality on the richer if slightly less chiseled finish that displays outstanding length. This too should age effortlessly, which should help to add some needed depth. Outstanding. Allen Meadows, Burghound
