One of my favorite wines from Amélie Berthaut is the Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts .. a vineyard with a very filigree and delicate minerality. The 2017 edition is a very charming glass – effortless and very balanced. The nose is bursting with mineral infused fruit – airy and cool. On the palate lovely depth – charming mid-palate fruit with a lovely range of forest berries. Perhaps lighter than the 2016 – but just as charming. Steen Ohman - Winehog

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Petits Monts offers up an appealing bouquet of sweet red berries, dried flowers and orange rind, framed by a deft touch of wood. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and supple, framed by a fine-grained but firm chassis of tannin that asserts itself on the finish. It seems to me that the improved farming that Berthaut has instituted since taking control of this parcel is beginning to make itself felt, as this is more vibrant than previous renditions. WK – The Wine Advocate

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Les Petits-Monts 1er Cru is matured in 40% new oak and includes 20% whole bunches (Amélie Berthaut wanted more, but there was insufficient space in the tanks). This is plowed by horse since the vineyard is too steep to use a tractor. It has quite an intense bouquet, perhaps not quite as detailed as the Lavaut Saint-Jacques, opening with crushed violet petal aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin and saline in the mouth, leading to a finely tuned, lightly spiced and quite persistent finish. This is very promising. Neal Martin – Vinous Media
