Pale lemon and lime. The bouquet is more backward than Les Clous, but the wine delivers a massive intensity on the palate, and excellent acidity, a fresh backbone that delivers this wine through to an exceptionally long finish. Excellent structure with a fine quality of white fruit. Frédéric Weber suggests tannins at the back. Very well balanced. Tasted: November 2020 —Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
From a parcel amounting to nearly 60 ares, Bouchard's 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Les Poruzots offers up notes of citrus oil, white flowers, wheat toast and fresh peach. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with lively acids and a bright, saline finish, this is a controlled rendition of a site that can often produce rather rich wines.—William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Tasting note: There is hint of matchstick character to the ripe yet restrained aromas of green fruit and citrus rind where the latter element is also present on the intense, muscular and concentrated larger-bodied flavors that conclude in a lingering finale that is borderline tannic. This isn't especially refined but it is powerful and notably more structured.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
