This a solid Boyd with lots of ripe blackberry and currant character on the nose and palate. Full body, chewy tannins and a persistent finish. Should be an excellent wine.-James Suckling

Despite being right next door, this stands above sibling estate Pouget in 2018. It demonstrates excellent freshness, with sculpted dark fruits, good balance and a lift through the mid-palate. It's unquestionably broad-shouldered and serious in approach, and it works extremely well.

The deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Boyd-Cantenac features smoked meats, dried herbs and savory aromas over baked berries and cassis with a pencil lead hint. The palate is full-bodied with a soft texture and bags of fruit and herb sparks, finishing warm.-Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Advocate
