Blackcurrants, mushrooms, bark, and black cherries. Some tar. Full body with juicy and chewy tannins and a long and flavorful finish. Solid red for the vintage. Drink after 2025. - James Suckling
Round and wide, this has a nice energy and texture from the start, slightly grainy tannins give the grip and hold the ripe red cherry, strawberry and raspberry fruit in place while the acidity carries the freshness from start to the long, minty fresh finish. The fruit feels well worked and this has a nice harmony to it. Refined and charming. An easy wine to recommend. Eric Boissenot consultant. - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
Philippe Raoux owner here since 1986, this is a ligher-styled Margaux with fresh acidities. Plenty of floral rose petal appeal, with sculpted red fruit character, good tannic hold, less generous than some, signing off with fennel and salted almonds. - Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
The 2020 Château d'Arsac has a well-defined, quite elegant nose, perfumed blackberry and bilberry fruit, crushed iris petal and light cedar scents. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit and fine structure. Not a powerful 2020 with just a slight tinniness on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle, and this Margaux Cru Bourgeois will turn out fine. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media
