Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2014 tasting, the 2014 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru from Duroché has an attractive bouquet with black cherries, bergamot and a touch of black tea. I appreciate the restraint here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine line of acidity, quite pure with a gentle if not complex finish with pleasant salinité. Not bad at all and it improves in the glass, gaining substance and vigor with each swirl of the glass. Tasted September 2017. -Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate
Note: from a .41 ha parcel situated in Charmes proper
Tasting note: A pretty, fresh and layered nose also possesses plenty of classic Gevrey aromas of various red berries, humus and animale nuances that are trimmed in discreet but not invisible wood. There is good vibrancy to the detailed and tautly muscular flavors that terminate in a sneaky long and mildly austere finish.-Allen Meadows, Burghound
