This is the first wine to display overtly generous wood and it fights somewhat with the fresh and cool aromas of red and dark currants, violet, earth and ample sauvage character. The dense, serious and well-muscled big-bodied flavors possess good minerality as well as plenty of sappy dry extract before terminating in a very firm and somewhat rustic and austere finale. Again, patience. Outstanding. - Allen Meadows, Burghound
Rich, with grip providing support for the cherry, currant, tobacco and woodsy flavors. All the components are there, but this needs some time to integrate. Offers a fine, lingering aftertaste. Best from 2021 through 2035. 50 cases imported. - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
Dark red-ruby. Very precise aromas of dark berries and smoky minerality convey a stronger impression of energy than the Amoureuses. In a distinctly savory, dark style, showing more smoky minerality than easygoing fruit today. This rather clenched, solidly structured wine finishes with big but fine-grained tannins. Erwan Faiveley describes this wine as “our entry-level Gevrey premier cru,” noting that this northeast-facing plot was favored by the dry, warm weather in 2015. - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media
