The 2021 Chablis Vau de Vey 1er Cru, which had already been bottled, has a very expressive limestone and flinty bouquet, one of the most terroir expressive amongst this range. The palate is fresh with plenty of energy and has good balance and acidity; palpable ginger and Lemongrass notes are fizzing about the finish. This is a great Vau de Vey and should give drinking pleasure for 12-15 years. Neal Martin, Vinous Media
Brocard's Vau de Vey is a masterclass in balancing ripe fruit with concentration, set against fine acidity and some lovely mineral notes on the finish. Not a shy, retiring premier cru but a wine with lots of personality and plenty of upside potential—Andy Howard MW, Decanter
Note: from both Vau de Vey proper and Vaux Ragons
Tasting note: Notes of oyster shell, quinine, green fruit and citrus rind precede the bigger and more powerful flavors that exhibit fine length on the slightly firmer and more austere finish. This isn't nearly as refined as the Côte de Léchet, but it is already more complex and overall, it appears to offer more potential. Outstanding. Allen Meadows, Burghound
