Note: Joseph Colin is the son of Marc Colin as well as the former winemaker at his father’s Domaine. He is the younger brother of Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey.
Tasting note: This is also aromatically quite cool with its more floral-suffused nose of mineral reduction and green apple scents. The racy and overtly stony middleweight flavors possess fine concentration on the linear, firm and lingering finish that is shaped by citrus-tinged acidity. Frionnes typically adds weight and flesh with age and 5 to 7 years of keeping should see this at its best.—Allen Meadows, Burghound
Les Frionnes also avoided the frost. A little more lemon yellow in colour, and certainly the most stylish and floral wine to date. Some opulence here, the flesh fills out the mid palate, a little oak, citrus to finish. Drink from 2024-2027. Tasted: October 2022.—Japer Morris, Inside Burgundy
