The 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Procès is showing beautifully, wafting from the glass with complex aromas of smoky dark berry fruit, black truffles, grilled game birds and subtle forest floor. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with a deep and concentrated core of fruit that's marked by the year's low yields, bright acids, ripe tannins and a long, resonant finish. This is a great success and well worth seeking out, though it won't be easy to find. William Kelley – The Wine Advocate
A whiff of the sauvage adds breadth to the red and dark cherry-infused aromas that are trimmed in a background note of wood toast. There is a lovely sense of energy and delineation to the focused and sappy medium-bodied flavors that deliver first-rate length on the overtly austere and moderately rustic finish. This is very Nuits in style and is going to require extended cellaring to soften the firm tannins but it should more than repay your patience. Sweet Spot – Outstanding . Allen Meadows - Burghound
Though round and fleshy, this red has depth too, featuring black cherry, blackberry, violet, earth and iron aromas and flavors. Converges on a wave of assertive tannins as this stretches out on the finish. Best from 2023 through 2042. - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
