The 2015 Gevrey-Chambertin Champs-Chenys Vieilles Vignes, which comes from vines lying adjacent to Charmes-Chambertin, has a very pure and perfumed bouquet with raspberry coulis, hints of blueberry and cold stone. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, quite angular tannin that will require bottle edge to smooth them down. Nicely structured, very fresh with great tension on the finish, this feels like a Charmes-Chambertin in all but name. Neal Martin – The Wine Advocate
Tasting note: A much more restrained nose grudgingly speaks of cassis, black raspberry, violet and earth where the wood treatment is much more subtle. I very much like the succulent mid-palate mouthfeel to the palate coating and caressing medium-bodied flavors that display excellent depth and length on the relatively refined mineral-inflected finale. Highly recommended if you have the patience to wait at least 5-ish years. Allen Meadows - Burghound
